It’s well known that scammers often target wireless, banking and credit card customers who become victims of fraudulent crimes. It is important that our customers educate themselves about typical tactics that fraudsters use and know how to avoid being a victim.
Fraudsters may call, text or email you falsely claiming to be an official representative of your wireless carrier, a bank or some other official entity.  These individuals are trying to trick you into giving up personal information. They may also try to trick you into clicking a link to a website designed to make you believe it’s an official site.
An example is a recent phishing scam where a text message is sent to cellphone customers offering a discount on next month’s bill. The text invites the customer to clink on a link which leads to a web page designed to look like your carrier’s website. If you receive such an alert via text, phone or email, please contact Boost Mobile to determine whether the request is legitimate. It’s important to remember that we will not contact you and ask you to reveal your Personal Identification Number (PIN).  Of course, if you call into Care, you may be asked to provide this information for account-authentication purposes and for your own privacy and account protection.
Boost Mobile is concerned for your privacy, safety and security when using mobile devices. Be sure to:

  • Always safeguard passcodes, account details, names, or other personal information
  • Not reveal this information to someone who, unsolicited, contacts you.
  • Contact us to report spam you have received

Sharing personal information with a third party without verifying that the request is coming from a trusted source may put you at risk of being a victim of fraud.
